Space Rental
A pioneer in the alternative space movement, City Without Walls (cWOW) was founded in 1975 to provide a venue for new art and artists and to encourage dialogue in contemporary arts practice. One of New Jersey's oldest non-profit galleries, we aim to support artists in the creation and presentation of new work, provide greater context and debate for experimentation, and foster an appreciation for the vital and dynamic role that artists play in our communities.cWOW rents its space depending upon the installation configurations of current exhibitions.

Space: Total public space is approximately 1,200 square feet
Bathrooms: One (wheel-chair accessible)
Hours: cWOW is open to the public Tuesday - Saturday from 12-6 pm during programmed exhibitions. Events can take place after 6 PM during this time; on Mondays and Sundays by special arrangement; or during the day and evening during "exhibition down time."
Equipment: Approximately 20 chairs and two tables are available for set-up and use for $50. A sound system with four speakers, are available for set-up and operation for $100.
Caterer: As cWOW does not employ an in-house caterer, selection can be made by the renter. cWOW can recommend local caterers and firms we have worked with in the past.
Kitchen: One household refrigerator with overhead freezer, microwave, stovetop, oven, and sink.
Rates:
Corporate: $1,000 (full day) / $750 (half day)
Not-for-Profit*: $500 (full day) / $300 (half day)
Small Not-for-Profit*: $300 (full day) / $200 (half day)
Discounted rates for multiple dates may be available depending upon reservation status.
*A discounted rate is available for not-for-profits with an annual operating budget of $200,000 or less.
Insurance Events unrelated to the mission of cWOW as stated in our bylaws require the renter to provide their own insurance with cWOW designated as Additionally Insured. Documentation of this insurance will be required as part of the rental agreement.
Staffing and Security: A cWOW representative and security guard are provided at a cost of $250 for half days and $500 for full days for insurance and safety purposes for the duration of the event.
Clean-up fee: A clean-up fee of $100 will also be applied.
Reservation and Payment: Dates are reserved upon receipt of a 50% refundable deposit. Final payment is due 30 days prior to the event. Cancellations made fewer than 3 months before the event will result in forfeiture of the entire deposit, unless the space can be rented again. No dates will be reserved without receipt of deposit.
Invitations, notices, etc.: Not-for-Profit organizations must credit cWOW with an acknowledgement similar to the following: Supported in part by cWOW. cWOW must first proof all materials listing CWOW.
