FEBRUARY 13, 2010: HOLDING ON TO YOUR POWER
“Holding Onto Your Power,” the first of a series of public readings organized by Yendor Productions, presents “Control”, a new play by Kaimaiya Cuffee followed by a panel discussion on Saturday, February 13, 2010 from 1-4pm at City Without Walls, 6 Crawford Street, Newark, NJ. There is a $7 fee for adults and $5 for youth.

"Control", written by teenager Kaimaiya Cuffee, explores the story of a young woman struggling in an abusive relationship and trying to understand what the term love really means. Following the reading, a panel of women community leaders and advocates for women's issues will discuss the concepts of self-respect, love, body image, and success as introduced by the play.
Panelists include: Wendy Cubano (Family Service League), Alexandra Lopez (Middlesex NCADD), Janene Quintin (Liberation in Truth Ministries), and Pamela Simms (Spotlight on Girls), with Alysia Souder (The Institute of Music for Children) as moderator.
Yendor Productions is a performing and visual art organization founded by Rodney Gilbert in 2003 that is dedicated to bringing the arts to the people, and is deeply rooted in serving individuals and diverse communities.
